Ingrown Toenail Treatment
Ingrown Nail Treatment
An ingrown toenail is not just a nail cutting issue; it is a painful condition where the nail pierces the soft tissue, leading to infection and granulation tissue. We discourage temporary solutions like pedicures for infected toes. We perform a permanent medical solution called “Partial Nail Avulsion with Chemical Matrixectomy.” This minor procedure involves removing only the side of the nail that is digging in and applying a chemical (phenol) to the nail root to prevent that specific edge from ever growing back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Generally, no. We prefer to remove only the problematic thin strip at the edge (about 2-3mm). The rest of your nail stays intact, so it looks cosmetically normal once healed.
The toe is completely numbed with local anesthesia (digital block). You will feel absolutely no pain during the procedure.
Yes, you can walk out of the clinic immediately. You will need to wear open-toed shoes or sandals for a few days to avoid pressure on the bandage.
With the chemical matrixectomy method we use, the recurrence rate is extremely low (less than 5%). It is considered a permanent cure for chronic ingrown nails.
Please note that 2026 pricing varies depending on the severity of the infection and whether one or both sides of the nail need treatment. A personalized treatment protocol and exact cost will be determined by our doctor during your consultation.
